Claiming endownments off Zurich

I am currently trying to claim off Zurich (formely Allied Dunbar) for a endownment, my policy is currently around 15k short of a 35k policy.

Anyone currently having success with Zurich at the moment or has anyone got advice.

regards

You are a few years too late to get a decent payout if upheld as they have seen good growth in recent years Many are now getting back on track. I am surprised to see a 15k shortfall on a 35k target but perhaps you are using the lower rate projection when the mid or higher rate is more appropriate.

Dunbar were known for heavy sales techniques. It earned them the nickname Allied Crowbar. However, like all endowment cases, it has more to do with the individual adviser and not the firm as to the likelihood of success.

    Thanks for you reply.

i took mine out in 1992 and to date it is around the 9k figure is i cashed it in, that is less than i have paid in.?

Is it worth using one of the compensation companies around at the moment
  • Chances are you are already out of time to complain as dunbar were quite swift with the high risk letters. If it is more than 3 years since the first warning then zurich will time bar your complaint.

If you decide to use a company then dont use a company that charges any up front fee as your chance of success is minimal, and don't use a no win no fee firm that charges more than 10% plus VAT

As you are new to the forum I would clarify that I run a complaint handling company
