Airline Tax

I am in the Royal Navy, my wife is in the Army. From October she will be posted to Germany, I will remain here in the UK. Therefore I will have to travel to Germany at weekends and leave periods to be with her and our children. Easy jet flights from Luton to Dortmund are ideal as I am only 15 miles from Luton and she is based 68 miles from Dortmund, they are very cheap if you book early but the tax is £25. Personally I don't think it's right or fare that serving members of the armed forces who are married should have to pay airline tax if they are seperated like this. Are there any get out clauses for Air tax that I can exploit?

My friend is based 100 miles away and so we have to pay petrol (and the tax) to get there. Do you think this should be reimbursed too?
