haircut at local college?

Hi I start a new job next week and desperate to get my hair cut (not been cut since Christmas!!) average cost in my hair for a cut and blow dry is £28-35 but is £12 at the local college. Moneys so tight I can't afford much so would rather pay the college price!
Has anyone had a haircut at their local college?
If the student makes a complete screw up of it can I ask the teacher to try and fix it?
So nervous Im putting my hair in the hands of a load of student Edward scissorhands lol

I have had my hair cut at the college, the trainees are very well supervised and an tutor is around to watch, ( where I went anyway).
Two things; 1, see if you cand get a 3rd year student and 2nd allow plenty of time, they are slower than a salon.
Treat other's how you like to be treated.

  • You might be able to get one for free! OH has had 2 free cuts at Toni & Guy lately, just ring your local salon and ask them or maybe look on Gumtree.

I had a 2nd year cut mine, they're always supervised, and if they look like they're going to make a mess of it, it gets taken over.

T&G sometimes have offers as well.

I had mine cut at a college, although I only wanted a trim I said it was a restyle which ensured it was a 3rd year that did it. I think as long as you don't want anything complicated then you'll be fine. At the college I went to the girl listened to what I wanted, told me what she would do and then once we were both happy she got her supervisor and then explained what we were doing, and then the supervisor gave her tips about it, and regularly came around to check how things were going. Overall I would do it again, but it does take a long time so make sure you don't have plans after!
