Repossession - now being chased for money

Hi,
Not sure I've posted this in the right place.
I had to leave my home when me and my ex husband split, I left with the kids and he continued to live in the house for a while. The house was then repossessed after it not selling on the market.
I have never had any letters about how much the house sold for etc. In fact o didn't hear anything for a few years and then got calls asking for money and I asked them to contact my ex who was the last in the house. I didn't hear anything else for another 2-3 years until this July I received a letter from Credit Solutions asking me for to contact them and then another letter stating I owe them just under £75k. I rent, have an old car, 2 kids and no excess money to pay anything extra
I'm unsure whether they've contacted my ex or what this money is even for. I stupidly presumed that the sale of the house would cover the debt. I've also had another letter from Power 2 Contact saying they are going to visit my property.
I'm worried and have no idea what I'm meant to do, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I agree that I should have dealt with this at the time of leaving the house but I was just to eager to leave and struggling to find a house for me and my children.

There is a useful factsheet that you should read here ---> Mortgage shortfalls
In the end though, if you can't pay anything then you can't pay anything.
You could ask them to consider writing off your liability, as they will not get anything from you anyway. Pointing out that if they tried court action, you could simply go bankrupt and they would again get nothing.
As for people visiting. It's unlikley that will happen, but if it did you are within your rights to simply tell them to get lost.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

power2contact do visit femi, so will fully correct you as I know people who work for themDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Were you jointly on the mortgage? If you weren't then maybe the debt is nothing to do with you? If you were then is this half the amount owing, or are they chasing you for all the debt. If you were both on the mortgage then you AND you OH should be chased for it.
Sorry I can't be more help.

I agree with Fermi. You need to let them know that there is zero chance of them getting the money from you, court or not. Try not to stress too much about it. Bankruptcy may sound scary but I've got mates who went through it and now are carrying on normal, happy lives. Better off than me in fact as I struggle on with the debts....0
