Aldi parking...appeal...minimum size for text, entrance signs

Options
I got a PCN for parking in Aldi...I know to send an appeal to Parking Eye of course.

Is there a minimum size for the text on the sign? Is that a ground for appeal.

I couldn't read all of the text on the sign. I have taken a photo and zooming right in I can read it...but does the text have to be a minimum size so it's readable when on site.

Another thing too...Is there supposed to be a sign on the entrance saying something along the lines of parking regulations apply? There are no signs on entry. Can I appeal on that ground too?

Contact the council and request a copy of the planning consent for the site and see how long that says you can park.
Then if it says anything other than 1+1/2 hours get straight on to them why they are allowing a breech of planning consent.

In the meantime, follow other advice that will follow and do not use this supermarket again whilst they have those scammers operating
    Be happy...;)

I don't think there is a minimum text size mentioned in the BPA CoP. Isn't that what Martin Cutts was campaigning for - that PPCs would be bound by the Department of Transport rules for minimum text size ?

If this is an entrance sign then you can complain that it doesn't match the one required by the BPA code in Appendix B (look it up on the BPA site). The entrance sign is meant to be white with a logo type thing in the middle, as shown in the BPA code.

I know that this must be the case because PE have recently changed the sign at the entrance at one of their car parks local to me. They originally had the same sign as in the picture you posted. I'm guessing someone must have won an appeal based on this point so they have changed it to the one required by the code.

Also, the code says that the signs need to state what they will use the ANPR images for. The sign doesn't tell you what they will use the images for - i.e. seeking to prove you contravened their (supposed) terms by logging entrance and exit times, so that they can ask you for money. The sign simply states there are ANPR cameras which monitor the car park.

And complain assertively to Aldi of course:

Should be easy to get cancelled if you have copy receipts to show 'the driver' was an Aldi customer. If not just appeal on signage being too high and no signage at the entrance at all (compare to Appendix B of the BPA CoP) and that there has been no loss in a free car park.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
