It doesn't work:( But my feet are very soft. My cough got so bad this morning that I had to call into work to say I couldn't work this evening. The pain in my ears when I cough means I have to press my hands over my ears until I finish coughing.

I got an emergency appointment at the doctors, after I was quizzed by the receptionist to see if I was worthy of an appointment. I explained that I was unlikely to die but couldn't walk round indefinitely with my hands pressed against my ears. I am now on a very strong anti-biotic. No alcohol for me for the next week or so:(

Oh dear - I had high hopes for this 'cure'. Hope the antibiotics kick in quickly.

Take care..I am on antibiotics too. Just about to finish. Have to say (sorry) not sure they helped..

I am pleased you haven't dragged yourself into work though.. its a good sign you are prepared to look after yourself a little. think last year you would have dragged yourself in come what may

Are you still gardening? Any green fingered news...cant recall much on your diary recently

Ouch, Piq, I remember that sort of cough. Hope you feel better very, very soon.
I had one of those 'earache' coughs as a teenager, I am deaf in one ear and the infection was only on one side, so there wasn't a massive amount of pain and no consequent deafness.
However as Mum was a nurse we never went to the docs, and had home treatment.
Consequently, the expletive thing lingered for months - years, really.
As a young adult I could still make myself cough by putting my finger in my ear.
So I am very pleased you are antibioticed. (You can have a little drink with most tablets actually, just not to excess.)
Shame about the Vicks not doing the biz, but with a petroleum jelly base, no wonder your feet are soft. I await news of Colin's latest adventures with interest.

Oh no sorry to hear you ended up on anti-biotics but I hope it helps clear it xx I might try the vicks on my feet for its softening effects instead xx

Sorry you're feeling poo but good to hear that you're taking care of yourself and not going in to work.

Get snuggled up on the couch, wrestle the heated throw away from Colin and watch really bad tv and movies.
