    Right, have made them, had a bit of a disaster as I went to the fridge for my raspberries and found they were growing a nice green fur coat:rolleyes: so I made them with apple, a grated carrot and some raisins instead. I cut down the baking powder to 2tsp as 4 just seemed too much to me. They turned out lovely :T

    Thanks for replying Flimsy - unfortunately I had to rush off unexpectedly today.

    So I should be ok to substitute wholemeal for plain you reckon? Ah I might give it a bash anyway. What's the worse that can happen?

    Plain if you are still using the 4tsp of baking powder or SR and maybe 1-2 tsp of baking powder.

    For the record, I omit the cinnamon as I didn't fancy it and made it with wheat-free flour. I make them in fairy cake cases so they are smaller.

    They aren't my favourite but my friend loves them and will pay me to make them for her!

    Like the idea of making apple and cinnamon though.
