Sale or return alcohol

Hi all
Getting very excited now... only 11 days to the big day!
In true MSE style we're organising alcohol for the reception ourselves. We've taken advantage of various offers over the last few months and been over to France to buy the wine, and I've got what I think will be enough of everything.
However, I really don't want to risk running out of any one type of booze during the event, so I thought I might get a backup supply at normal prices, with the intention of returning all of it back to the shop, unless any is actually needed.
Do the supermarkets allow this? Tesco's T&C says that you can return non-perishable goods within 14 days of purchase, so that looks OK. OTOH, if you're buying at Tesco wine by the case, you can only return up to 10% of the total, and only full cases.
Has anyone done this recently? I don't want to be landed with a huge collection of alcohol I don't want after the event...

Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning
