My brother works for them and seems to be constantly up and down the country, travelling to various venues

We've used showsec a few times, they service gigs all over. It's not a shortcut to a fortune, but they do a decent level of business so if he proves a stayer he'll probably do alright :-)

If he has any specialist martial arts/close protection/etc accreditations, make sure he mentions them. Stewarding is fairly low-level stuff, but good security will get closer to the fun side of things/stuff that needs securing.

I'd do this with another job. If u go to venues in other cities I don't think they pay fully for accommodation. Hope I can make a bit from this Job. Might be fun & hopefully meet some nice people

  • Hi,

i work as a full time fire fighter and this is something I'm interested in doing as a 2nd job.

May I ask, are any security qualifications required to work at events. I'm particularly interested in Leeds Arena events.

Any info would be great, thanks

    Ease of booking and fair.
    pay ok on some jobs
suck up to managers/supervisors you will go far

    CONS:
Really Bad Breaks..... eg. 30mins withing 17 to 19hour shift.
    Bad management,
    treated like school children,
    no back up in situations,
people interpreting their own account of incidents to protect their own backs regardless of others.
poor logistics in getting you to jobs
