I'm amazed at the attitude of the OP... had she provided the detail that she considered herself to be disabled and required reasonable adjustments then this thread would have been a lot shorter and sweeter.:hello:0

So they are trying to rule out other causes of the fatigue. There is no test for CFS/ME just negative results for anything else it might be.
Have you tried any changes to your diet? I have just excluded wheat from my diet and fatigue has gone, arthritis has improved alot , and no more GI problems.
Yep trying to rule out other causes - I have a slightly underactive thyroid which is now under control with medication but still feel exhausted! And still slightly iron deficient and B12 deficient despite being on supplements for these for over 3 months and including more of these foods in my diet - now looking if there's a reason I'm not absorbing them properly, possibly related to the IBS.
Tried lots of changes to my diet but the nausea is such a huge part of my IBS - probably the worst. Went wheat free a couple of years ago for about 8 weeks but didn't feel any better. Only thing has helped me are anti-nausea pills but they have the side effect of making me even tireder!
It's annoying because people think of IBS as only having a bit of a dodgy stomach and not realising how difficult it is for some people. I physically can't leave the house before 10 am because I feel so ill (nauseous) in the morning I can barely get out of bed and takes me a couple of hours to work up the energy to get showered and dressed. Jobcentres and Benefit Offices such be more sensitive to people's needs with regards to these things - if workplaces can offer flexible start times for workers why can't government offices?0 -
I have IBS and have started following a low-FODMAP diet on my GP's advice - worth researching to see if it could help you."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

I have IBS and I've had it for about 10 years and I manage to work full time and have only had 4 days off in that time (and for another illness, not for IBS). I know what triggers it and what time things might happen and I work around it. I get flare ups all day and usually with a 5 second warning!0
