Trainee Mortgage Advisor Interview

Hi guys,
I have an interview with C&G today for trainee mortgage advisor, any tips?
I'm going straight from work at 5pm for an interview at 6pm, and its about 25miles away so I'll be on my mototrbike, which means that I'll be in my leathers, which in turn means a) I'll be leaking sweat b) IMO, it wont look too professional. C&G said they dont mind me being in my leathers as it was only yesterday they invited for the interview and it was too late to book a half day off work, but still, its playing on my mind a bit!

It wont have any impact if you are in leathers as long as you show them you can sell and your personality fits.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). hey guys
i have an interview also as a trainee, what do you think would be the right answer to give if they interviewer asks what kind of salary are you hoping for??
would 18k be a realistic answer for a trainee adviser in a bank?
thanks
good luck inch let me know how it goes0 -
The one I'm going for is £15800 and then increases once I've done CeMAP0

A simple "please excuse my atire, I had to rush from work" will be a good icebreaker - I'm sure nobody will mind.
....Lil_chooa - I've always found the best answer to that is along the lines "I'm currently on this XXXXX so an increase would be very nice. However, I would find good career prospects at least as important"
Wish you both the best of luck0 -
If a young male came to me for an interview in leathers they would get the job no problem because I'd want to rip them off:rotfl:

Good stuff, when shall I come then?
The interview went ok (ish) - it certainly wasnt bad, but it wasnt great neither.
They were asking if I'd be happy selling insurance etc along with the mortgages, which I have no problem with, as long as I get the right training, but I felt like she almost didnt believe me!
I also felt towards the end they were just going through the motions to finish the interview, and werent too interested anymore.
The manager is on hol now for a bit so I wont find out for a while, but I'm not holding my breath. Still, its all experience...0 -
its a difficult industry to get into but do persist and you will get there eventually - I believe there are a couple of mortgage networks who take on trainees - network data, LIME and Mortgage Times Group I believe - you could give them a callI am a Mortgage Adviser

Hi Guys,
Just a quick question. I have passed my Cemap1 and am due to appear for the Cemap 2/3 next week, which i am pretty sure would be able to clear.
the only thing that i am slightly confused by is that when i start applyin for jobs , should i start with trainee mortgage advisor or the straight on "Mortgage advisor" job. I have some sales exp but thats like 4 yrs old and for the last 4 yrs i have been working in the admin field. any help would be appreciated.

Just reading a few threads and Ive noticed a lot of trainee mortgage advisor jobs are asking for sales experience even in banks. Has anyone got any advice how i can get sales experience quickly as I have failed customer service jobs in the past just becasue of lack of sales.Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*
£11,860.00 needed = £1,106 in savings
