Egoscue Tower

I'm looking to purchase an Egoscue Tower, however I'm unable to find a supplier within the UK and I'm not willing to pay for shipping from the US. Does anyone know of anywhere within the UK that sells these or outside the UK with cheap shipping?

I'm unable to post links, so I won't be able to give an example of the product, sorry.

Thanks

Until I read your request I'd never heard of the Egoscue Method. I now know that it's a non-clinically proven quack therapy aimed at people with back problems. Naturally it's American and its creator has made boat loads of money out of it.

Because it has franchisees there are lots of people on the the internet who reckon it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. However this forum thread gives a different view point.

The tower appears to me to be a box with grooves to hold rods to adjust the step height.

I can't find anywhere in the UK which sells it but an American website had one for $127 plus a ridiculous shipping fee and, of course, 20% VAT and possibly the Royal Mail's £8 handling fee. That's about £81.60 just for the product.

As a much cheaper alternative I suggest you buy this 3 tread stepladder from Tesco which costs £22 click and collect or an extra £3 for delivery. Because it folds up, the step height and gradient can be adjusted.

    http://www.tesco.com/direct/abru-3-tread-domestic-stepladder/100-7528.prd?recommendationId=9531a5ad-5b26-48ef-9ea9-38650edc55b5.0&skuId=100-7528

There's no ties on that to stop your feet moving about as with the Tower but that's easy to remedy by buying a couple of these adjustable webbing belts for £2.73 each including delivery from this Ebay seller with excellent feedback.

So that's about £27.50 all told and, if the therapy doesn't work, you've still got a very useful stepladder. :D
  • Hi there,

I see the post is around a month old. I invested in an Egoscue tower around a year ago shipped from the US (bloody expensive in total!).

I used it heavily initially and I am back on my feet again after a dreadful 18 months of lower back pain. Whether it helped, cant say. But you sure feel the stretch in your hip flexors when done right.

Anyhow, I no longer use it so if you are interested I am happy to sell it on? Will PM you.

    Thanks,
    Rush
  • Hi I would be interested in the tower if you have not sold it already. Please let me know
