If label read dry clean only

Hi have forgotten to take my son' s blazer to be dry cleaned.i was wondering if anyone knows if it could be cold washed in the machine or am I taking too much risk? He needs it for tomorrow. Didn't think he would have to weAr it in hot weather but he does!!

I've put my other half's dry clean only suit on a hand wash with a teeny amount of detergent and hung it up in the shower before. It worked but it was nerve wracking at first!

I have washed my son's dry clean only pants on a 30 degree hand wash a few times. There's no way they are being dry cleaned when he only wears them for one day.

If it's an expensive blazer with lots of wear left in it I wouldn't want to take a risk. Perhaps you could sponge out any marks and give it a good blow on the line until you can get it cleaned.
It depends on what it's made of, what lining/padding/stiffening it has.

I only hand wash dry cleanable stuff after I've had my moneysworth out of them.

Most of the stuff you buy has a dry clean only, label to protect the manufacture,r not because it is dry clean only. I wash everything that says dry clean only and I haven't had any mishaps YET!!!

Ah I just went to read what it was made of and the label says it can be washed on a 40 . What am I like going to stick it on now! Thanks again that message save me a few pounds!!
