Any help appreciated, I've been going back and forth with moorcroft for 6 months of a Vodafone debt-my ex husband took out a mobile phone contract in my name, using my details, delivered to the marital home. I was unaware of this and have found lots of debts in my name that are unknown to me.
Today I received this email:
Thank you for your recent communication in relation to the above account, please provide us with full written details of the fraudulent activity on this account, along with a crime reference number which can be obtained from your local Police station. Also we require a written disclaimer confirming fraud with your signature.
Please send the above requested information direct to our office.
If you require anything further in relation to the information we have provided in this letter, please do not hesitate to contact us on the below number.
Now if I send them my signature will they add it to the contract and try and fleece me for the £629?
I'm concerned-I have no qualms about reporting him to the police, he's the bane of my life.
Any ideas what to do? The debt is 1 year (roughly) old and was taken out online.
Thanks

You have answered your own question - you need to report the fraud to the police.0 -
If you are worried about your signature being used in this way, you can print it rather than sign it, or use a lattice box over it to make it harder to copy. I wouldn't send it to them unprotected, just in case. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

I cant be of any advice over the given situation.
HOWEVER, Moorcroft are SCUM, and that 600ish will double before you know it. My wife was stung by them similar with Vodafone, but her reason was because they sent out a new phone and effectively charged her for TWO contracts rather than one. Allas it ended up with Moorcroft and we couldnt fight it even tho it was clear it was vodafone's !!!!-up0 -
You can get the crime number from https://www.actionfraud.police.ukStill rolling rolling rolling......

Hi velocity.girl,
Thanks for making me aware of this.
If you'd like me to take a closer look at things could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?
All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it will take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line?
Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. So I can make sure I've got it could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?I cant be of any advice over the given situation.

Hi ze0n,
I'm sorry to hear about your wife's experience.
If she'd like any help from me with getting to the bottom of things could you ask her to email me as per the details provided above?
Kind regards,
