Also, what if you had debts with RBS (Tesco) rolled into your BR, aren't Halfax part of that group? However, my mortgage is with Halifax which I have kept totally up to date throughout my br and previous 7 years. Or do I have that wrong???

HBoS was Halifax Bank of Scotland, now owned by Lloyds Banking Group and nothing to do with the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Also, I used to have an electron card and found that the only place I couldn't use it was at the 'pay at pump' terminals at Tesco petrol stations and online, M&S and Tesco wouldn't accept it. No problem anywhere else although I never went abroad with it.

How about using your card, because its electron does it have limited places you can use it and also abroad are you able to use it? Looking good so far though, thanks for your responses
The only problem I ever had with the card was attempting to buy train tickets at the station - seems none of the train stations accept electron.
Normally I buy train tickets in advance on line (through trainline.com) and they have no issues with electron.

Well judging from your responses all seems well with a Halifax account. My main priority being that I can see my most recent transactions immediately as I keep a close eye on my finances on a daily basis. I really can't believe in this day and age that Coop are so backward, or do they really not care about their customer who have cash accounts because of who we are, wonder if their current account customers have the same issue.... I doubt it.

Anyway, signed my forms and sent them off to Halifax so waiting to hear now on when my account is set up :-))))

Could someone tell me whether Easycash account offers BACS/fast payments (I know they offer CHAPS)? A customer tells me she paid online into my account, but my account doesn't receive CHAPS.

Halifax Easycash accounts offer both BACS and faster payments
