As good as a win!

Like several other compers, 1 of my main reasons to start was being unemployed. Not that I thought I'd win anything to negate the need of a job or anything like that, just I had extra time so it was something to do, and the chance to win some things I might not have afforded otherwise.
I hadn't been working since January, (though official work finish date was mid-Feb, and was complicated due to a compromise agreement situation) (I started comping in March), and have had very few interviews during this time - before today 1 phone interview and 2 assessment session/interviews, all unsuccessful.
Had another assessment/interview this morning. This evening a got a phone call: I've "won" the job! (A new shop opening at the same airport I previously worked in. Shop opens December, training from November, so still got a little while of free (/comping!) time! I'm sure I will continue to comp, but probably won't get to enter quite as many. But won't have as much time to enjoy any potential holiday etc wins so that won't matter too much.
What else has anyone else had that was "as good as a win"?
(A successful result of the above compromise agreement was as good as a win too really - it's kept me from being in desperate circumstances and still been able to have some nice days out etc. and I still have quite a lot of the payout that I can now enjoy!)
