My other half did the cooking for the first 20 years of marriage and I'm doing the next. I love hot curries but she doesn't. We go to Indian restaurants and can't get through to the waiters that my wife likes spice and lots of flavour but she can't take the chilli and she always ends up with something more resembling a creamy desert than a main course.
I was about to give up on making the curries at home after several attempts resulting in me enjoying my meal and my wife throwing he'rs away.
I have now found this simple BBC recipe and it is absolutely superb. I leave out the chilli for my wife and maybe add some ground almonds or a splash of cream or a touch more Garam Masala. We have had it 3 times now and it is better than anything I have had in a restaurant and I have over 40 years of experience.
Give it a try
