I'm willing to bet GMAC didnt 'sell' it to you.

If you used an broker thats where you should address your concerns.

  • I had a Company calling me asking who our Mortgage was with, when I told them it was GMAC they said I could be due compensation, as they were a sub prime lender and at the time we didnt need to use one as we had a very good credit score. But these Companies charge 25%!! :(

There are a couple of scam companies doing that. It is random cold calling.
they said I could be due compensation, as they were a sub prime lender and at the time we didnt need to use one as we had a very good credit score.

How can they tell you that when they have no access to your records? The only thing in the public domain is the name of your lender.
    But these Companies charge 25%!!

worse than that. They usually hit you with an upfront fee as the complaint they put in is typically bogus and they scam you by the upfront fee.

    Look at this one: http://www.asa.org.uk/Rulings/Adjudications/2013/8/Money-Boomerang-Ltd/SHP_ADJ_229144.aspx

They were telling people and advertising successful amounts but it turned out they have never had a success.
