Wedding Advice

Hi Peeps,

Im looking to have an outdoor wedding in a marquee, we would also like the party to go onto 3 or 4am.

Is there limits on music going this long and what would I need to get license wise to be able to achieve this.

Im also looking for venues around Cambridge which would be able to house this request. If anybody knows of a venue, please message me details.

  • I would imagine that most reputable venues wouldn't allow this as they will be licensed by the council up to a certain time, noise carries a long way outside so they would not be too clever getting complaints from neighbouring properties, are not planning to have it close enough to home to be able to carry on back at yours?
  • We've been able to find a farm where we can have marquees and people can camp after. The amplified music has to go off at 11 but that's when the bonfire gets lit and the guitars come out for a good all fashioned sing song.
It's in north yorkshire so no good for you but try local farms.

  • I do like the idea of having a bonfire and guitars, Thanks guys, there are a few around so will contact them.

You can get married in the colleges at Cambridge University. (A friend got married this week at Clare College). They will have grounds that may be able to accommodate a marquee, but the noise will probably be restricted.

The Manor Barn is in Harlton. A friend got married there a few years ago and it was lovely. Here.

A farm in the middle of nowhere is probably your best bet!
If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.

  • Other half and I went to see South Farm - beautiful but V expensive and every hour after midnight you carry on you are charged something like £250 per hour. More for your boutique style weddings...if you have a budget of about £10K + then go and check it out, otherwise it's a bit of a heart-breaking, fruitless exercise. They are basically fully booked up for most of next year too.
