Financial overhaul taking place in the Watty household. Using the Budget Brain on this site. Cannot believe anyone can do it in an hour. Has taken me most of the day in between work. Am not sure I shall be sharing my findings. Its almost embarrassing the amount of money we are getting through. The ERE forum would ban me am sure
I'm quite sure I wouldn't be able to overhaul my finances in an hour.
At least you've realised how much you're spending..... Now to plug the holes!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Hey Watty
Don't feel disheartened, any progress, even pennies, saves you more money overall. So as we always say, any progress is good.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Thanks all. Am wondering if there are any incentives to move to Greece? Suspect the Watty household spending could right an EU financially distraught country very quickly.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

I can think of quite a few disincentives. That said, I think you could live there for half of the year with no tax to pay if your money was wrapped up in tax free wrappers in the UK.
I was considering it during a bad day at work, but some of the prices are insane (2 bedroom villas with nary a sniff of a sea view (or a pool) for £250k+ on islands with no airport etc.)
I would be afraid of moving anywhere where the central bank is accepting donations to pay off the national debt....0 -
Hmmm. Maybe Greece wouldn't work then. Not sure how two ponies would make it given one is decidedly iffy about travelling too farMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
