Hi I will be applying for a mortgage for the first time this week. I will be using a financial advisor that has been recommended to me. Question I have is what to expect from them. Will I need to speak with the lender they find for me or will they do all that for me.
Thanks

Question I have is what to expect from them.
First thing is to make sure they are an IFA and not an FA. FAs are restricted advisers. Sometimes that restriction is small and may not be in the area you are dealing with. However, in most cases, FAs offer a restricted product choice. Frequently as low as just one provider on insurances. Although for mortgages, they will usually be whole of market. That is the second thing. To make sure they are whole of market. Will I need to speak with the lender they find for me or will they do all that for me.
They do all the work with you and deal with the lender etc.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
