Milk is not a dairy product in Tesco clubcard coupons?

I had a disagreement with an assistant over whether cycling equipment was fitness equipment. They gave up and gave me the bonus points, but they still didn't seem to agree with me.
The categories for bonus points are often quite vague, and as I'm usually buying things specifically to get the points, it's difficult to know what I can and can't buy.
I had the same disagreement. They said cycle helmets were TOYS. :eek:Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0 -
These coupons are a pain when they don't work. Surprised about the milk described above, I tried it on dairy ice cream and found it wasn't classed as dairy - was half expecting this though. I too have had the fruit/vegetable coupons and have been told that salad stuff like tomatoes or lettuce are neither fruit not vegetable. Organic ones are a pain sometimes - anything organic baked instore doesn't work and organic stuff from the counters don't work like organic cheese from the deli. In the Tesco Extra you have to go to the customer services to get the points and the desk is understaffed and the queue is a nightmare.
Had a pleasant surprise the other day - has a coupon for non-food and they listed examples such as clothing and electrical, CDs, DVD's, "plus more... "etc but I was intending to buy toilet paper and we all know this is a non food but was expecting some problems and imaging some discussion with the customer service assistant about what non-food is and telling me should have bought something from the list and me asking what "plus more.." means and then me saying the logical argument that toilet paper isn't edible but it went through perfectly fine first time so was happy.
I usually have one coupon every mailing that doesn't go through and was wondering what I would have to do if this happened in the Tesco METRO store as they don't have a customer service desk and then last week I head the dreaded refusal beep. The assistant apologised and after I paid for the transaction with the coupons that did go through pushed a few buttons to start a transaction to credit me the points just as they do at customer services in the other store. I don't know if she has special powers to do this or they all are able to do this but it is so much easier than having to queue up a second time somewhere else. I wish they all had powers to override the till refusal as this is a common occurrence by me and the people I meet queuing at customer services.0 -
Toothpaste isnt a health product either apparently. I dont know what else keeps my teeth healthy. No point awarded.0

Maybe we should have a comedy thread along the lines of confused .. u will be as a subject!
Stating little known facts such as:
Bacon is dairy not but not milk or ice cream etc
Tomatoes ar eneither fruit nor veg
Toothpaste is not a health product
Helmets ARE Toys
Bikes etc are not fitness equipment, anyone got any other comical things to add!
Its like if fish swim in sea and mamals live on land the what on earth are wales etc doing underwater?0 -
I bought a rucksack and tried to use a fitness equipment coupon. They said that it wasn't fitness equipment. I said that I wasn't planning to use it when I was sitting on the sofa watching TV.
I'd like to think that it was my considered and erudite reasoning that changed the assistant's mind, but I think that they just wanted to get rid of me.
I got the points though! ("Just this once though", he said.)0 -

No, but it implies that Tesco categorise them as vegetables.
Although the one that I went in today had them in between bananas and peppers.0 -
