Wedding dress alterations- help please

Hi all,
This is probably a really silly question, but is there a limit to how much a wedding dress can be taken up by? I have found my dream dress on ebay, at a dream price! However, the dress is for a 5'8'' bride, and I am 5ft!! I know it will obviously cost me in alterations and dry cleaning, but for the price I am willing to pay for it. The size shouldn't be a problem, it's just the length. Hope someone can help!:)

I think like any other dress it is going to depend greatly on the style.

I have just taken the plunge and bought a dress off ebay. It should arrive in the next couple of days and I know it will need to be taken in and up.

For me personally it's worth the risk for the massive saving I'll make. If it's not possible to alter then I'll just try to sell it on again.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Oooh how exciting, I hope you love your dress when it arrives. I just worry that with such a large amount needing to be taken off, it will effect the pattern on the train of the dress, but I guess as you say it is worth the risk, and can always be sold on again.
