Would accidental damage have to involve an accident always?

I've got a comprehensive car insurance policy with NationWide which covers accidental damages also.

I've accidentally hit the wall in a parking and my car's right door and the boot have been scratched/dented.

Would that be possible to claim? Or accidental damage is only and only applied when involved in an accident?

Its sounds like you had an accident to me unless you purposefully hit the wall. So therefore you can claim.

I agree it is an accident but "accidental damage" cover refers to damage to your property, not that done by you to somebody else's property. That would be a third party claim.
