Pardon my ignorance but when you send the 'prove it' letter to a DCA what would constitute proof that the debt it is yours, i.e. what should you expect them to send back to you?

Statements showing how the debt accrued, correspondence sent to you, etc. What will your verse be?

Thank you. But just so I am sure what you mention is seen as 'proof' that a debt exists but not 'proof' that you are the 'actual' person liable for the debt?
So basically when you ask a DCA to prove the debt is yours would you expect the same kind of response?0 -
I would say "proof" that if taken to court would convince a judge that on the "balance of probability" the debts exists and that you are liable for it.
Obviously there is no absolute definition for that, as it is a subjective judgement call, but you can ask your self the question "if I was a judge, would that convince me?"Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I would expect to receive a copy of the credit agreement. If not at the First attempt, certainly is response to a CCA request after sending a statement/account number etc.

Presumably not your debt?:beer:0
