How come these searches work for some and not for others? I sit here and type in everything under the sun and never win. Is there some trick to it or do you sit there all day trying to come up with something?

There are no specific terms that get you SB for searches as far as I know but often the same searches work for others. There is usually a time frame in which people get SB for searches. When one person gets SB for a search, you'll find lots of other people get SB for their searches as well around that particular time period. Sometimes it helps to go to the next page or other pages of your search because sometimes SB are given there too.

I think it must be random. I often wonder the same thing but it's odd that even when they work for people they get different amounts.
