Expensive Mobile Contract

Hi,

I'm desperately looking to cut as much costs as I can and one of them that sticks out is my mobile contract. I pay around £50 a month however I don't need to pay anywhere near this amount and got sucked in when first signing the contract. I want to know whether it's possible to cut this down in anyway. My contract expires in Feb 14 with o2 but I'm looking to cut this cost down as soon as possible. Any ideas?

Please excuse me if I've posted this in the wrong forum category.

Thanks in advance.

O2 usually let you drop one tariff mid-way through your contract. Have you had a look at your account online or asked them if you can drop a tariff?

Other than that, there's not much you can do as you're in a contract.

Try contacting your current provider and see if they will offer you any deal to drop your contract amount - this may require you to sign up to a new contract so be sure to know / understand what they are offering before agreeing.

The only other thing I can suggest is to use this time to carefully track your actual usage - then come Jan / Feb you will know what to look for to suit your needs.

    Thanks for your help guys.

I did contact o2 and they were happy to let me drop down one tariff without having to even renew the contract.

I was surprised it worked and will now save £13 a month.

    Cheers!
