Hi all,

first post so please be gentle

Moving with the family to Australia, in early October, and was wondering if anyone knew of a local company that I could use to ship a pallet of stuff out to Australia.

Google is your friend. There's plenty who can and will move for you.

Also they don't move by pallet. You can either part fill a container (so you share with someone else or a few others), a full container (about a 2 bed house for a 20ft, 4-5 bed for a 40ft) or by the number of boxes. Have you also decided if you want air freight or by sea?

Air frieght is horrendously expensive - it goes on either weight by mass, or nominal weight by volume. But it does get there in around a week, and can be cleared in another 7 days for collection.

IF its non-essentials, I'd choose deep sea freight, takes around 6 weeks to get there, and another week or two for AQIS clearance and delivery (if you choose delivery). They can collect and set off before you do, but usually you have to be in the country before your goods arrive - AQIS may refuse to clear them otherwise if they are personal effects, and you can be charged quay rent - last time I checked it was around AUD$320 a day, so not cheap.

Hope you get something sorted - most places will do it.
