    Sorry, long day..

You can chase your Solicitor, who can at least check with their Sols as this potentially could be on someone's desk.

As much as we love to hate Estate Agents, they can and possibly are applying pressure to your buyer to pressure their lender/solicitor.

If your buyer is using Halifax, this will almost certainly be ok as have had something similar recently (although was all signed off earlier in the process by the sounds of it)

Do not suffer in silence, still do chase hard and you will be surprised at how quickly things can pull together.

Thanks again Dave. My solicitor is chasing and we have been told it's still not back from the lender, so the buyer is also trying to contact the lender to see if he can hurry them up. Stressful times! Thanks for all your advice and kind wishes. I'll post to let everyone know if/when it gets sorted! Fingers crossed!:)
  • well, our mortgage is going through Lloyd's (c&g) and let me assure you, it has been the LONGEST ever purchasing experience, i am sure!
We need to do some works on the house btwn exchange and completion before lloyds will release the funds, so the mortgage offer was supposed to have the list of things we needed to do, but the offer came out so vague it was useless!!!
They basically deferred to the suggestions of OUR surveyor, who did the full survey, who actually stated nothing needed to be done BEFORE completion, so it was very confusing...lots of messing around, and 6 weeks later we are STILL waiting for the revised offer to come out, always being promised it this week...
they seem in no hurry to do anything, and we are very lucky we have nice vendors who are not hassling us, as the process has stretched out since feb!
lloyd's said c&g have just switched to a new computer system and our application was on the old system so has to be transferred over, and its taking time...
we are pulling our hair out with the waiting as it seems it will never happen...so you're not the only one waiting, waiting, waiting for c&g to pull their finger out!
  • Thanks for your input. I honestly don't even know what Lloyds C&G means? I just know there's been some merger between Halifax and Lloyds, hence that my buyer has been able to secure insurance with Lloyds due to my existing insurance with Halifax.

    Thankyou for replying... :)
  • UPDATE: The lender gave their agreement to proceed on Friday. Yippee!! However, after a few more hours of hearing nothing, I was then told we would exchange at 5pm. Zilch. As of today, still no update from either solicitor or EA. :(

But as for my original post, all ended well finally. Whether we ever exchange is another matter...

Thanks so much to everyone who responded. :)
