right could do with some advice as this seems to be a grey area..
I have 3 boys with the same mother. The eldest of which lives with me so she has the other 2 lads.. I'm still unsure what I shiuld be paying as I'm sure due to the fact I have biggun living with me there may be another formula as payments are concerned...
I have been paying %20 as if I only have 2 children but if I'm full time parent to one of her children this doesn't seem right..
can anyone help please??
thank you
Tim

Do you claim child benefit for your eldest? Assuming that you do, you need to go to the csa for maintenance from his mother, a counter claim, if you like...
That's the way it works (unfortunately)...

How old is the eldest?
If they are under 16, or between 16 and 19 and in full-time education, you should have a protected part of your salary which is 15% of your take-home pay - you then have to pay 20% of this remaining 85%. This is assuming no overnight stays and that your case is on CS2. Under these circumstances you would also be allowed to open a case for the eldest.0 -
and likewise the mother will have 20% of her income protected for the two and pay you 15% of the remaining 80%0
