Hi c0113tt3
As the previous poster has said, they are priced well and affordable, for those of us who would not be able to make a large purchase in one go.
For me it is about building a bracelet that reminds me of special times or places. Gifts from family and good friends. I agree that it is a fashion piece and not a classic piece of jewellery, but it is fun to wear and buy for!
I think you've answered the question spot on here.
I can't afford to go out and spend hundreds of pounds on a bracelet, and none of my family or friends could afford to spend that on me. However, I/they can afford to spend £20-£50 a time on charms. So yes, in the long run I've spent enough on Pandora that I could have bought a gold/diamond/precious stones bracelet, BUT that would have meant asking for money for presents and not having a nice bracelet to wear for a few years. I understand your reasoning and I understand that some people would rather save up their money for the gold/diamond bracelet... but not me!0 -
I got myself a bracelet yesterday and got the double wrap woven free worth £45 i think, going to put it away for a present0

if you are buying from john greed you also get a free gift if you spend more than £50, so you can get both the bracelet and a choice of 1 of 4 items

Same here too. I wasn't really into the idea initially then got a bracelet as a present. I then started picking up the odd charm here and there while we were away for a weekend etc, and now have a great selection. I also have gold diamonds etc but this is something different and fun. I wear my pandora every day and gold stuff for special occasions. I don't stick solely to pandora and have other brands on it too, there is a lovely place in Covent Garden and I always pick a couple up when there and they are half the cost of official pandora, yet unique designs which suit me. It also meant a lot to me when my OH picked out a charm for me at Xmas ( and spentbages queuing) as normally he needs a lot of directing, so I think pandora offers safe options for gifts whereas he would not choose an expensive item without me first telling him what id like.0 -
Oh and I just ordered 3 new charms and got the double woven. I will be interested to give it a go. Presumably you just dot a few charms/beads around on these?0

Also, in addition to the free necklace or earrings, do a search on "gift" and it will bring up a Thomas Sabo 2013 diary. Add this to your basket too, also for free. I know we are half way through the year but it may be useful to someone?.....:)0

I have a query about pandora charms, and bracelets, apologies if off the topic, but personally I have never understood the fascination with pandora jewellery. Pimarily they are made of either silver, metal or glass / murano glass, none of which are of any relative value, although pandora do charge and place an extorionate price and value on their charms. For the price of a bracelet, and several charms to fill it, would be in the region of £450 or more for merely silver and glass at best. For the same price u could buy diamond, ruby, emerald encrusted gold bracelet, which to me appears much more exclusive and valuable. I also look at the persepective that within a decade or so, pandora may not be the trendy item it was and something else will replace it, meaning your expensicve bracelet is rather not worth a lot being made up of silver and glass, where as gold, diamond, ruby and emerald may at least keep its value if not more, and still remains exclusive to have.
Please give me your thoughts and opinions, as i really want to understand the craze with pandora.
To further expand on my point of view, that with pandora you are actually buying into a brand name, rather of any value or exclusivity, if you really were that way inclined into brands, then for the same price you could buy chanel gucci, armani jewellery in silver, and some limited gold for the price of a complete pandora bracelet, brands that are really exclusive and will last a lifetime, brands that will never cease to be exclusive, personally i prefer exclusivity of gold and precious stomes rather than glass and silver.
Pandora is merely a marketing brand, trendy for now, forgotten later. Brands are created to give exclusivity, a good example of this is biba for example. House of fraser heavily promote the brand as being designer and of quality and exclusivity with exceptionaly high prices. If you look into the biba brand for example, you find it is a 3 times failed value / budget design brand / house, that house of fraser bought and promoted it, and is now is an exclusive and expensive brand, a brand that means actually nothing but a failed budget brand. This is not the same situation as pandora, but it is a brand that is only a marketing name, one that will dissapear, and your bracelet will hold no future value, exclisivity or even something you can still wear with pride, unlike you could with gold, diamonds, ruby etc.. and chanel or even gucci all for the same price region.
I don't like expensive jewellery that can easily get damaged. I'm quite an active person and would be devastated if I had some fancy few hundred £'s bracelet and broke it. With the nature of Pandora, if the bracelet breaks I still have my charms and the charms are really quite robust. I don't actually like bracelets or rings because I hate my hands, but I love my Pandora because every charm means something.
I don't just get charms because they look pretty its because they means something and I love the individuality of a Pandora. I have two lovey charms from my OH at my birthday and valentines, a 21 charm for my birthday, a horse charm in memory of my old boy, a dog charm as my dog is my best friend, a mother nature charm because I love being outdoors, the Sagrada Familia charm from when we went to Barcelona. There are worse things to spend money on. My Christmas list always consists of socks and chocolate, that's about it, so its nice for people to have something else to get if they want to.
I personally don't need to wear designer brands or things that 'hold value'. I like wearing things which look nice and have a meaning to me, which my Pandora does.0
