Hi all
I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am currently with a broker, they have put me through for an AIP and the result was referred, he has said this isn't a bad thing and doesnt automatically mean declined. Can anyone tell me what sort of reasons for why some need referred to an underwriter before an AIP is given.
Thanks in advance

It could refer for literally any number of things.
It might be there is something the system doesnt understand,
It might be that you are borderline and a human needs to look over it,
It might be a standard system check pulled at random.
Literally anything.
If they were going to decline the app, they would decline it. Referring something isnt a way to break the news gently so dont worry. Its just a case of waiting and seeing unfortunately.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
