Anbody tried the bacon from Farmfoods before I buy it?

I noticed it has 18 slices in a pack and it's also part of the 3 for £6 offer. The negative side is that it comes frozen but I can deal with it. I don't wanna buy it if its packed out with too much water or tasteless. Any tried it yet?

My friend recently recommended this bacon to me but I haven't had a chance to try it yet. She says it's great though a good value for money!

It's decent enough for what it is - we found the sections of the slices had a tendency to come apart while cooking, but if that doesn't bother you, it's okay.

I bought this a couple of months back and was surprised that it seemed no different to Tesco's standard offerings (apart from on price obviously).

It's obviously not going to compete with the high quality type of bacon but it's good for what it is.

  • I get it when i go once every so often. The down side is you have a lot of bacon to eat once its defrost... no that may NOT BE THE DOWN SIDE. It is cheap

  • I haven't tried it but my Mum has and I remember she said it was full of water and really shrank after she cooked it. She hasn't bought it again.

We buy the £1 packs and they taste good. I find digging through for the rashers with less fat on is always a good way to go - and they generally do have a lot less fat around the edge than most 'standard' supermarket bacon!
  • We buy the Farmfoods bacon, and whilst you get what you pay for, you do get a lot of rashers so if it shrinks a little then you just do an extra one or two in advance and have a roll loaded with bacon.

We think it good value and reocmmend it.
