Gift money from abroad

Hello,

My father has kindly offered to give me some cash as gift to help me put down as deposit for a house, does any one knows the Tax implications with this?

    there is no tax on gifts in the uk as far as i am aware?

    Within the UK there is no tax on the receipient of the gift.

    However, the Donor should verify the tax treatment in the country the funds are orginating from.
