Tracesmart......

Good morning, Hubby was contacted this week by letter by a company called 'Tracesmart' regarding an old pension with a previous employer.
It states they have been appointed by the Pension Protection Fund as the records show they have lost contact.
They have sent some log-in details and have asked him to confirm Full name, D.O.B and NI number.
Has anyone heard about this company? Ar they legit?

Hi Molerat, i have looked through their website and it all looks legit, however, a bit of searching on the net and there are quite a few negative reviews from people saying to avoid at all costs!
Just wondering if anyone on here has used them with no problems...DEBT FREE AND PROUD'Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt'0 -
Phone up the pension protection fund (have your NI number handy along with old employer details) and ask them. They will let you know what is needed.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

They are a legit company and we use them where I work (3rd party administrator) to track down pension scheme members we've lost contact with.
The request to confirm name, dob, NINO etc will just be to confirm that they have actually found the right joe bloggs.
If you are still unsure then I would follow dunstonh's advice and cut them out completely by going direct to the pension scheme.0
