Change of shifts at work for the worse

I would like to suggest you to leave/change the company if you are not satisfied with the company rules. Their would be a notice period before to leave the job and if their are any possibilities to change the shift then you should stay on that job. Why don't you do one thing; "Ask your senior to change the shift" and tell him/her that I am filling well/comfortable because of the night shift and want to change the shift.0

Your best bet is to get out of doing these unsocialable hours due to medical reasons ie: lack of sleep causing headaches stress etc, you should see your GP and company Occ health nurse if they have one. You then may have to present this as evidence to your employer that your unsafe due to tiredness and/or making you ill doing these shifts.
I have worked unsocial hours for many years 4 hours sleep between nights. sleep deprevation is horrible It the sort of feeling to having travelled long haul flight then you, sleep go to work and feel that again the next day and the next.
Good luck.
Sorry just noticed post 3 gave you this advice but this really is the best way to get that shift changed as they cannot refuse you if its affecting your health especially since you could work other shifts within the company.0 -

Of course they can refuse. There is no legal right to a "reasonable adjustment" on health grounds, only on the grounds of disability. And there is no disability here.0 -
looking at this,if it were me
go home and grab a few hours kip
get up,spend time with the GF after she finishes work if possible
go to work
repeat for 4 days
I now have one full extra day off to sleep, catch up with GF etc
Not ideal but thats what you gotta do sometimes
I probably get less sleep between my !!!!!!,my OH and having my boy
interesting!Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

Well, if you were all in a union ... you would collectively negotiate some kind of sensible shift system which shared the good and the bad and from that base allowed people to swap for more of what they wanted and less of what they didn'tYou might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0

well that's the theory............
However lets be honest
the majority will want day/early shifts
So even in the utopia of union/management co operation
not everyone will be happy0 -
If they really won't change your shifts, if I were you I'd think about looking for another job whilst still working nights. You'll have the whole day to go to agencies and interviews, so searching for another job would certainly work in your favour currently. Use it to your advantage - you have a degree so I think you didn't plan to spend your life working in a warehouse (not that there's anything wrong with that of course).
I know which warehouse you're on about - if its still warehouse work you're looking for, try Gist, ASOS or the Post Office. Also the agency pertemps always have warehouse roles. If you can stand working in schools, check out the teachinherts website - they offer all roles in schools including things like caretakers. Don't forget there's always really good public transport to the surrounding towns if you don't drive. Take a look at all the other offices in that industrial area and note them down, then look for vacancies directly on their websites.0
