Any local comping groups?

Does anyone know of any comping groups where members meet up? Would be nice to meet some fellow addicts! I'm in the north west :)
Thanks to all those fab compers who post:j:T

Know what, that would be such a fab idea, but I doubt we would be allowed to engage in the necessary coms to arrange something like that here :(

Yes, we have one in the Norfolk, Great Yarmouth area.
I've met some lovely people.. we meet up every couple of months.. swap entry forms, compare wins, have a postcard draw and a general gossip.
We also have a Facebook group where we chat and share any local comps.
  • There's this site which lists comping clubs according to where you are located: http://www.justcomps.co.uk/comp-clubs.html if that's any help :)

    Loved the quote here:

Most competitions on the internet are free to enter, and are very quick and easy. So naturally there will be a higher number of entries. You need to enter at least 30 competitions a week on the internet as well as your postcard/plain paper entries to start winning prizes.

If you're on Facebook that's a great way to "Meet" other compers. Some I've actually gone on meet in real life.
There are no restrictions on swapping info, but your safety must always be paramount, so please, be vigilant and take time to consider if people truly are as they seem.
(Plenty of safety info available, so won't rattle on here!

Yeah when I met grannybiker, I took my OH, the police were informed and there were trained snipers in the forest just in case.

Seriously, you do need to be careful, just as if you were meeting someone on an internet dating site.

Love the thought of starting/joining a comping group. I've had a peek at the link posting be lilmiztam22 :T and my nearest one is still too far.

Inspired by this thread, I'm half wondering now about trying to set one up locally. Anyone got any advice as how to go about this? Also, what happens at meetings? I.e. is it purely social, or does anything formal usually happen?

    Thanks guys

Hi Blulu, the OS msers often have OS meet ups with no problems, could be worth asking over there for advice?
