Yesterday afternoon I received an email from Parcel Force saying I had a delivery from sofa.com! So I thought yeah - must be a prize as I haven't ordered from them! :j The tracking number said the package was due to arrive today so I waited in patiently.
The customer order number they provided in the email started with 'CS' so after looking at their site, I assumed my deliver must be CORNER SOFA! :T However it did seem strange as after searching MSE I couldn't find a comp that I had entered to win one?
Anyway, the package arrived and the driver carried over a huge sealed tub about 9 foot long - all wrapped up! So my immediate thoughts were 'cannot be a corner sofa so it must be a rug!!!' I've won a rug!!! :j
So after dragging the thing in and cutting it open - guess what I found?! - a roll of remnant sofa fabric! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: DOH Then I remembered a few weeks ago a blogger had blogged about a company giving away free fabric remnants and because I love sewing, I thought I would email for some! It was obviously that company who arranged to send it
So after thinking I had won a corner sofa then rug - my prize turned out to be a roll of offcut!

Love it, the excitement of the guesswork!! Still exciting to get a large parcel even if slightly more disappointing contents than a large win :rotfl: Good freebie though :T0

LOL Yes - I got the email the day before too! And when I saw the customer account number starting with 'CS' I was so excited because the only items on their site starting with with those initials were Corner Sofas! I even started planning where I might put it depending on the colour!
Then, when I saw the driver with a long roll I thought OMG a rug. At that point I did feel a little bit disappointed but just for one second before I got excited all over again!!!!!
I am still looking over at the HUGE roll of sofa fabric remnant propped up against the wall and thinking 'what am I going to do with that!?' When I asked for some remnants I expected little patchwork bundles lol not a huge roll long enough to make curtains for my whole house!! The 'CS' probably stood for 'cotton scrap' lol!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
Aww, I'd have been overwhelmed with excitement seeing a 9ft package coming up the path!!
You could re-cover your own sofa, be like having a new one then!0 -

Ah that's a proper comper's story though isn't it! Only us compers could have an imagination like that, I would have thought the exact same as you lol.
You could always get some foam or something and make some pet beds with it to sell on if you have that much of the stuff?0 -
Thanks mumto2boys - yes I'm sure my doggie will end up with a matching bed, cover for her crate and maybe a little dress lol! And I still wouldn't mind making myself a hammock for the garden - it is on my '100 things to do before I kick the bucket' list! Yes to enjoy myself in a hammock! :P:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

Lol! Love it!
Sorry it wasn't a corner sofa but I'm sure a hammock will be just as good when you make it!
Reminds me of the time when my sis was looking to buy a new car and was reading out the abbreviations on an ad...."FSH...oh it's fully central heated" she said!
Had to remind her it meant full service history and cars don't have central heating! Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0
