Attention: all carers in the Glasgow area
A Carer's Privilege Card is being launched tomorrow for all carers, resident in Glasgow, who are over 18 years old. The card is free. As far as I can tell, you don't need to be in receipt of Carer's Allowance to get this card, just registered as a carer at your local carers centre.
Anyway, it will entitle the bearer to various discounts and privileges, to be updated in a monthly email sent out to all carers registered with their local carers service.
I don't know exactly what all the discounts will be (and presumably they will be added to over time), but the most significant one appears to be a 33% discount on access to Glasgow Club (the gym, swimming, etc). As carers in receipt of Carer's Allowance are already entitled to the concessionary rate, I suppose this will not be a further discount, but rather a widening out of the concession to informal/hidden carers.
Some info here in the link below, but get along to your local carers centre for more info.
