  • I'll do research into offset mortgages, thanks.

    20 percent of a 350,000 is 70,000.
    I have 50,000.
I think in a few months I can turn that into 70,000

As I said, I'll look into offset mortgages.
Are there any government schemes I should know about? I am a first time buyer.

OK, it's tangential to your initial query, but may I ask how you intend to do that, without risking all of it?

I'm in a business with phenomenal returns on capital employed (100%+), but it's a rare, rare business that can guarantee that sort of amount.
