Generally yes - but the Solicitor may request other supplementary documentation to satisfy both this and money laundering regs.
Hope this helps

NatWest accepted a screen shot of the balance online.
As it was a ISA account I had not statement with that balance and no facility to print a statement online. I was quite shocked they accepted it.FTB

Not quite that simple.
If your bank statements shows the balance today but also indicates a recent large transfer in, the source of that transfer will also be questioned.
For example, if Dad gave you £10,000 last month and those funds are now in your bank account, the lender will require a gift letter.I am a Mortgage Broker

I am self employed, and due a large payment from a client. Obviosuly being a sole trader I have various payments from several clients. Thinking this should be ok, to show a balance. The client would be more than happy to prove this is legit0

Don't you maintain a separate bank account for business rather personal transactions?0 -
I did say it wasn't that simple and there is your 'curve ball'.
Withdrawing your deposit from your business is often a problem for lenders.

Yes of course, any business payments go into my business account, meaning it will be obvious that the money has come in and is legit.
My money goes into my business account, then I transfer 'my' money to my own account0 -

As a sole trader, I pay myself a percentage of my turnover, and my deposit is from this sum. Surely they will see that?0
