The excitement from receiving winning messages disappears when there is no sign of the prize for weeks and weeks. I find it very difficult to word requests for the prize - it feels like being reduced to begging! Some advise leaving 28 days before asking but from experience I've found that after this time it is likely that the sponsors have forgotten all about it.

The CAP code allows 30 days unless a longer time is stated (I think one of the magazines says get in touch if you do not receive the prize within 35 days of notification), so 28 days is not an over long time.if more than 30 days after the closing date, the date by which prizewinners will receive their prizes0

The IPC mags- for the dallies wins say 14 days and then contact the prize provider and copy in the person at IPC. (I've never had to yet.)
I've had WEM's from other places that have said a maximum of six weeks before contacting, others about a month.
You really do need to look at what it says in the terms and conditions when you enter as it will usually say how long it will be.
If I see any I'm entering with a longer than standard prize delivery I note it in my record note book.
I always use the reply function on the WEM I'd received, so they can see their original e-mail message.0

I won an Ipad through real radio/yorkshire estate agents 28 days ago, I was told by someone at real radio at the time that someone from yorkshire estate agents would be in touch within 28 days to arrange my prize..
 not heard a thing
Do you think it's worth chasing them up about it or should I just wait a bit longer? Thought I'd ask in here, seeing it's relevant to my problem lol0

Was it 28 days or 28 working days? In which case you need to discount weekends and the Bank Holiday.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

Ok, I'm sure someone will come on here and shoot down what I say, but I don't care, I'm gonna be honest, as always.
Personally, if I start to get any sense of concern about a prize, I will send off a very polite, usually apologetic, email. It will go something like,
"Hi, I was fortunate enough to get an email from you saying I'd won your competition for a [prize] on [date]. I haven't heard anything since or received the prize yet. It's probably all fine, but I would be grateful if you give me a rough idea re dispatch, just to make sure there aren't any problems. No nagging intended. With grateful thanks."
I've only ever received positive replies so far, other than for one prize that I gave up on. That issue was nothing to do with my emailing them. Was supposed to be a year's supply and I only got one delivery - not a year's worth. So I didn't query it until a long time after I'd won.

The woman from real radio didn't specify working or non working, she just said within 28 days.. I'll give it a few days, they might get in contact today, never know :undecided0

Why would they, it's sound advice it's not like anyone would be "looking" for an argument... would they?! (<<it's so wrong that I have to point out that is friendly sarcasm :rotfl:) it's not like anyone would be "looking" for an argument... would they?! (<<it's so wrong that I have to point out that is friendly sarcasm :rotfl:)
I'd do just as Blulu suggested, I have my own similar email and I have never received a neg response. I'd definitely contact about the ipad too. 0 0

When I have one I have not heard from within 14- 28 days I send an email back saying that I just wanted to check they did not need any additonal information from me to proceed
As long as you are polite I don't think companies mind at all but its worth bearing in mind that very often the person who emailed you saying you won will not be the person sending the prize so they may have done everything they should have and its further down the line that there is a delay - hence why they ask for 28 days normallyJuly 2015 Wins- Shaun The Sheep Goody Bag, 4x Books

:rotfl: I have given up trying to work out if I'm being paranoid or not here. It's very possible that I am  But it's also very possible that I'm not and that 'they' really are 'out to get me' (just kidding, mostly ) )

Since the start of this year I've had a dreadful time with prizes not showing up and I've had to politely email after a month in well over half of my prizes won in 2013 to date. Still waiting for one that I got a WEM from at the beginning of July! But, as the other posters said, I've always had nice emails back I live in a bit of an odd location and stuff does go missing so I have that excuse to email with as well. So far though only one thing I've had to chase claimed to have already sent it. I live in a bit of an odd location and stuff does go missing so I have that excuse to email with as well.
