The inspiration for The Sunday’s trilogy came from a stint the writer did, acting as chairman for an English branch of an international charity for the homeless.

Many of the individuals who sought help from this organisation were experiencing problems with either drugs or alcohol, in some cases both; lives in which many instances were shattered almost beyond repair. Also, for a fair proportion of the aforementioned, having previously sought help from the many and various agencies who proffer solutions to these problems; they were in effect, in the last chance saloon.

What had gone wrong?

Throughout the world there are numerous superb programmes aimed at those suffering from addiction and or obsessive behaviour, but unfortunately and invariably, most of those organisations have their own ‘one size fits all’ approach to problems of a singular personal nature, hence the high defection rate from the agencies involved.

In The Sunday’s trilogy ‘Hare’ brings this understanding to the page through personal experience and in a gentle, oft humorous, self-deprecating account of his own life’s short-comings, sets out a secular, non-judgemental approach for those seeking solace from both themselves and their supposed demons.
