P800 Tax Miscalculation query

I received a HMRC letter stating that I have underpaid tax by £932 for the year 2012-13 which was a big shock. But the calculations strangely show that my PAYE Income for the tax year is £6000 more than what I am actually getting.

It shows the following for tax year 2012-13

PAYE Income: XXXXX
Employers Loan Benefit (this is prob London allowance) XXXX
Benefits in Kind XXX
Medical Insurance Payments XXX

Do I contact HRMC and tell them that my PAYE income is wrong and should be £6K less or do I need to contact my HR dept and get to them to update HMRC?

Thanks

you need to speak to HMRC
do you have your P60 and P11d statements ... are they correct?

I'ld be surprised if 'Loan benefit' was 'London allowance'

London Allowance is normally called just that in my experience.

Do you actually have a Loan from your employer (for season ticket perhaps - see http://employeebenefits.mazars.co.uk/general/article/season-ticket-loan-information)

    You have BIKs?

Is the Medical Insurance also a BIK?

Is the value of the BIKs, loan, medical insurance £6000?

If so, is the £6000 added to your salary for tax purposes?

I ask because a pensioner of my acquaintance who has BUPA from his old employer has the value of the BUPA added to his pension and this is then taxed through PAYE.
