Which 5yr mortgage?

I am a first time buyer and trying to find my house to purchase (hopefully in the next few weeks/months). I am looking for a 5yr fixed mortgage. I have a ~40% deposit, and am looking at borrowing approx 4x salary.
Can anyone suggest providers to look at? First Direct appear to have good rates available.
How quickly does it take to go through an application and get accepted?
Thanks

Generally speaking the best rates seem to end up at the pickiest lenders. So if you were a borderline case then I would suggest a broker.
Given your deposit though I would punt for the bast rate I could find and go direct.
Use this and just fine the very best rate and keep an eye on the svr after the fix ends.
