Buying FIFA 13 Coins...?

Options
My son has asked me to buy him 200K of these coins - they are being advertised on ebay for around £8. To be sent 'free' with a guide? I am totally confused by it all. My son is driving me mad and all I've asked him to do is explain what we will actually receive once we've hit the BuyItNow button. I asked the seller, too, but they've not responded.
Has anyone here got any idea, please? I could scream.

You'll quite likely get emailed a 20-or-so digit redemption code, as well as the instructions on how to go about redeeming it on your console of choice. The code will unlock the coins in-game.

As for what the coins are for... no idea, I steer clear of EA.

Most likely what will happen is this:

The seller will ask your son to put up a card on the Fifa Ultimate team market for 200,000 coins with details of the card (Nationality, team, etc).
Then the seller will buy your sons card for 200,000 (minus the 5% EA tax on in game transactions)
Then, to comply with ebay the seller may send you a "free guide" but I doubt it.
The trade will most likely be for the intangible coins and the seller has put "free guide" because ebay (to my knowledge) doesn't allow intangible transactions.

    Exactly as above.

However Fifa 14 is just around the corner, so no doubt he'll be asking the same for that too!

Have you used that site ?
  • Avoid like the plague!

There's no recompense if the seller doesn't do as they've described, and given the problems Fifa games (on both consoles) have had in the past with fraud I wouldn't touch their DLC/Online transactions with a bargepole.
