Post Office mortgages = application process

No idea then, but based on what you have said you should be able to get a mortgage. I wouldnt worry, but if it does decline come back on and we (the brokers on here) will ask for more info and we will help where we can.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks for your help, watch this space0

Today I received a text stating that the application had been processed and paperwork requirements were in the post!
Still not sure what my chances are, I assuming that as long as I can provide paper work then all is good - feeling a bit sick!0 -
reading the text again it says Application Assessed - we have assessed your mortgage application and our processing requirements have been posted to you..... so now I am thinking this could be bad.0

Why would it be bad?
We have assessed your application and we require the following documents... thats all it means.
Thats a good thing. If they had no intention of lending you the money they would turn round and say its been declined.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. You're right... I need to chill out! Ha ha
Thanks once again0 -
I initially went down the route with mortgage advisor who recommended me to go with Accord Mortgages.
What a waste of 2 months that was.
Just as backup, I applied online with Post Office, after their great reviews. Was accepted online. Paid valuation + survey fee. All done very quickly. Had the results in the post as soon as it was done. Every step of the way, Post Office kept me upto date with daily text message to tell me where I was at with mortgage process.
Employer gave reference with regards to salary. All great.
Within 2-3 weeks, everything sorted. No mortgage hassle.
Accepted and signed the final paperwork. No issues, very straight forward, quick, prompt. I only have good things to say, as opposed to my previous posts regarding Accord Mortgage (a nightmare - DO NOT USE).
The only thing I'm now waiting for is the sellers as they are taking their time. But otherwise, a smooth transaction to date.
Hope this helps.0 -
Just a quick update.
Finally got my SA302's from HMRC
Had a text today saying the house valuation had been instructed, and should be carried out in a couple of days.
So far I am incredibly impressed with PO services, here's hoping it runs smoothly from here on in. I have phoned a few times, and they have been extremely helpful every time0
