Hey, I'm a carpenter and have been working for the last few months on a building site. That works dried up now and I am looking to sustain my income by doing work for Private clients.
Where is the best place to get work from? Preferably not spending a lot of money.
Regards

Develop your own Facebook business page. Go to networking events. But you will have to spend money on advertising in some format. It goes with the nature of the business!Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Have you got a portfolio?, the handyman I use, has a facebook page which he regularly updates with before and after photos, I hired him on the basis of his portfolio, then once I had seen the quality of his work, cleanliness and cost, I hired him for other jobs and have recommended him to friends and colleagues.0

Church magazine as well. I know someone who does handyman type work and he gets all this through contacts at church!. Lots of elderly people trust him because they know him etc.0

I've never used it myself, and I don't know what the cost to a tradesman would be, but the website that I've often seen mention of is www.ratedpeople.com. The problem may be that you need to get recommendations before other people will select you, so if you have existing customers willing to endorse you then get them to do it.0
