How do you get a train?

Am I correct in thinking if I get a zone 1-6 travel-card added onto my next ticket into London (so it will say Basingstoke to London Terminals (Via Woking)), it could be used for any national rail journies inside the London zones (1 to 6) (for example First Capital Connect from say Kentish Town to Easy Croydon)?0

'able to produce on demand a copy of the Ncoc'?
where on earth is that written down?
I think stations have to have a copy for reference somewhere but don't think individual staff have to produce one 'on demand'?
It would be bizarre if the terms of the contract were not available from a ticket office!

"A copy of the booklet 'National Rail Conditions of Carriage' is available from ticket offices."
This can lead to some amusing encounters at LO stations, where you can end up having a battle just to get them to admit that they are a part of National Rail.0 -

Basingstoke [BSK] to London Zones 1-6 [0035] is valid for unlimited travel within Zones 1-6.
Basingstoke [BSK] to London Terminals [1072] is only valid as far as London Terminals (ie, the furthest you could go is Victoria/Charing Cross/City Thameslink/London Bridge).0 -
A ticket office must print a copy, if requested. Mystery shopping takes place to ensure that this happens.

Does this phrase actually mean they HAVE to print it off on demand though if they don't have any readily available? (except presumably the master copy they have to carry).Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
If you don't like my opinion feel free to respond with your own.0 -
You have to buy new tickets
ignore this^^. Its not true. If your tickets haven't arrived 48 hours(for instance ) before departure then contact the train company directly to advise they havent arrived.
They will re-issue the tickets to be collected from a machine in the train station. THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THIS. I know this from previous experience.

I can't link to the post on another forum where this all unfolded, but the short answer is yes. I had a dispute with SWT about this very issue. It's explicitly mentioned in many TOCs' passenger charters, such as SWT's:Copies of this Passenger’s Charter and the
National Rail Conditions of Carriage are available from
staffed stations, our Customer Service Centre or can be
viewed on our our website southwesttrains.co.uk
You may be surpised to learn that many stations do not even hold a reference copy on paper, assuming of course that they are even aware of the document's exixstence.0 -

Are you telling us this is the way all ticket selling companies work, or do you just have experience of one of them?
If it's just one seller you are talking about, it might be useful if you told us which one.
Either way, I find you 'ignore this, its not true' comment somewhat rude.0 -

Excellent, I normally get the London Zones 1-6 travelcard
(I got some pre-booked tickets from Banbury station yesterday, so nice not to have to enter the code, insert payment card and the tickets printed)0 -

And if their local station does not have a TVM that will issue TODs(Ticket on Departue)?"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0
