How do you care for your clarisonic?

I bought mine off US ebay - so no instructions.
I'm sure I read (before I bought it) that you should take the brush head off & was the brush head & the unit, including the bit the brush head slots into monthly, anyone see/do this?
Bit worried about water damage, but I find it smelly just washing the head & there is debris in there. I guess I could by some cotton buds & clean it (don't normally keep them in the house because I'm addicted:o).

Never put cradle in to water!!!! You can wipe if you want.
The head and the actual Clarisonic you can put into water. I was told to use baking soda and it works. Put baking soda in hot water and drop the head in on its own to soak for a few minutes. A soft tooth brush a baby one should fit into the hard to reach parts. Dip the tooth brush into the baking soda and water to clean the bit the head clicks into.
I've had mine since 2009 and its never been smelly.0 -
Thinking about buying a clarisonic. Just wondering if you can use any cleanser with it?0

I've used facial cleansing oils, face washes & hot cloth cleaners with mine.0 -
Yep, I use any one but the clarisonic ones tbh...my skin hated them!
ATM I'm using a cream cleanser which I was dubious about with keeping the bristles clean but its working absolutely beautifully, and my cream cleanser is washing out fine.0 -
Thanks all.
Just need to find one in my price range lol.0 -

If I were to buy again I'd buy the most basic, is that the Mia? Its really all one needs.
Mine is the professional one and frankly, imo its a waste of money for home use. Manual body brush is better that the clarisonic( clarisonic is superb for face, neck, d!colletage but body....meh...I don't. Rate it so highly )
Considering the price difference I wish that's something I'd known when I bought.0 -
Are the Chinese fakes as good as the real thing?
Do Clarisonics ever go on special offer?0 -
